As I use my land line a lot for calls to companies, I find that I'm either navigating automated systems or getting put on hold a lot. The CS6829 handles this with ease through the use of its built-in speakerphone. On hold for 10 minutes and need your hands to stir dinner? Not a problem with this phone. Whether using the handset or the speakerphone, the phone has delivered clear sound, courtesy of its DECT 6.0 digital technology.You remember back in the day when cordless phones first came out and you could get interference from your neighbor's phone? DECT digital technology makes sure that doesn't happen.
The handset has a backlit keyad and display, which you will know is helpful if you've ever tried to make a call in the middle of the night and weren't able to see what buttons you were pressing. The phone has an ECO Mode, which will help conserve power and enable the phone's battery to last longer and perform its best. You can adjust the volume of the phone on the handset. There are days, especially those when I get my cell phone bill, that I long for a landline. The more I think about it, the more it makes sense. There are so many benefits to having a landline telephone system like the VTech Dual Handset Cordless Answering System. Lately, the most important of these is the fact that my teen loses his phone constantly and I need to keep in touch with him when he’s home and I’m not.
I like the VTech system because it has a speakerphone for conference calls and both ends can speak at the same time – no more cutting each other off. Also, two words – Caller ID. A must have. Having Call Waiting is nice, especially since it displays the name, number, time and date of incoming calls on an easy-to-read illuminated LCD display screen.

My favorite features about the VTech Dual Handset Cordless Answering System:
ECO-Power Mode, for saving power! I'm an energy conserving freak, it's just a pet peeve, I try to save it where I can.
Has a nice back-light display so it makes it is easy to read the screen .
Speakerphone, I'm a mom so anything hands-free is always a plus!
I have some sort of strange comfort having a house phone again, like an added security in case anything goes wrong with our cell phones, I know this seems ODD but I like the backup.
It's economical and it gets the job done. I originally had bought another brand, I was not happy with it, returned it and have been happy with my Vtech since.

For me the phone is perfect and I wouldn't change anything. I love than I can expand it when we need more phones and the features I use are included. You honestly can't beat the price of this phone especially since its from VTech, which is known for quality products! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new cordless phone. Additional handsets are only $15 and with the option to expand up to five, any household should really be covered!

With so much more than just the basics, the VTech Cordless Answering System with Caller ID & Call Waiting will surely fit nicely in anyone's home. Its sleek design is certainly an eye-catcher for everyone and its ability to conserve power and, therefore, cut back on energy costs is a huge bonus. Having just bought our new home and being on the fence with the to-get or not-to-get a home phone, the energy efficiency feature was definitely a big selling point for us with this particular phone.
Of course, there's also the aforementioned caller ID and call waiting. For us, caller ID is a huge bonus. Ever since getting my cell phone, I've always been the girl that (and I know I'm not along here) ignores just about any number that I do not know. Normally, I do this under the assumption that "if it's important, they'll leave a message." Now, with the VTech Cordless Answering System with Caller ID & Call Waiting, not only can I screen our calls and ignore those that I do not want to take, but I can also rest assured that if a call is, in fact, an important one, the phone's digital answering system will get it for me. With up to fourteen minutes of answering machine recording time, no important calls will ever, truly, be missed.
