Around Father’s Day I started hearing the buzz about VTech’s Connect-to-Cell home communication system. A phone that connects with your cell! How cool! I was itching to try it, see if it lived up to my expectations. And I have to say – of every home phone I’ve ever tried, this is my all-time favorite.
First off, it’s sleek. The handsets are lightweight and slim. The bases fit any decor, hardly drawing attention to themselves … until they ring. It has caller ID, large display that is backlit, and a digital answering machine built-in. And of course you can store oft-used numbers in its digital directory. And I love the handset speakerphones, which I often use when doing laundry. But what really makes it fantastic?

We are quickly approaching the time to send the kids back to school. Some can’t wait for them to go back while others, like myself are dreading the first day. VTech LS6475-3 cordless telephone, which in my humble opinion, incorporates several unique, versatile and just plain useful features I’ve yet to see another landline company bring to fruition within their product line.

The Bluetooth feature is really nice. You can pair up headsets or phones. You can have multiple devices listed, but only two can be ready for connection at a time. I was able to pair multiple Android phones (even two at once) and Bluetooth headsets. It is important to remember that the Bluetooth is in the telephone base, not the handsets, so you have to be near the base to pair up. Also, you cannot mute a Bluetooth headset from any of the handsets. Since my Bluetooth headset does not include a mute button (I always mute on my phone) this seriously limited my ability to use this feature.

One would have thought that with the shrinking of the land line telephone market there would be less product variety for cordless telephones. Apparently Vtech doesn’t see it that way, and keeps coming out with new and interesting products. The LS6475-3 incorporates several unique features...
